Kato Paphos is the lower, coastal part of town: the harbour, castle, archaeological park and the restaurant strip along Poseidonos Avenue. It is urban and walkable. The seafront is on the doorstep. Ktima, the upper town, is a few kilometres inland, typically 5 to 10 minutes by car or a longer walk up Apostolou Pavlou. Stock is dominated by apartments, with some penthouses and townhouses. Private gardens are rare; communal pools appear in residential complexes a street or two back from the harbour. It suits remote workers and people who want to live without a car. Families after quiet streets and a garden usually look further out, in Chlorakas, Geroskipou or the hills.
