A villa in Paphos is a detached house, typically three to five bedrooms, on its own plot. A private garden is the norm; a private pool is common, especially in Chlorakas, Peyia, Tsada, Tremithousa and other hillside or coastal-suburb locations. They are scarce on the Kato Paphos harbour strip, where apartments dominate. Villas are the highest-priced of the four types, above penthouses and townhouses, reflecting size, privacy and outdoor space. They suit families, retirees and people relocating who want a house rather than a flat, and who usually have a car. Expect to drive to the seafront from inland and hill villas; coastal plots in Chlorakas and Peyia are closer to the water.
